As parents we often wonder about the right time to introduce our little ones to chicken and meats. Although traditionally parents often introduce poultry including chicken at the age of 7 months, pediatrics suggests that you could introduce it to them a bit earlier as well.

However you need to take care of the kind of chicken recipes you introduce to your babies. Most of these recipes include simple accompaniments like sweet potatoes and pumpkin which are nutritious and light on your baby’s palette. If your baby still hasn’t learnt the art of chewing food, you will need to puree it in a processor.

This is a chicken recipe for your baby who is below 1 year of age. The recipe is extremely simple, delicious as well as nutritious. It contains high protein chicken, iron filled potatoes and pumpkin which are fibrous as well.

Chicken Delicious Dinner

Chicken Breast – 200 gms

Potato peeled – 1 small

Pumpkin diced – a small bit equivalent to the potato

Sweet potato diced – same size as potato and pumpkin

Creamed corn- optional

A small pinch of salt.

Method

Steam the chicken till you can pull shreds off it. Boil the vegetables till they turn soft and tender enough to mash them.

Put in a small pinch of salt in a bowl, add in the boiled vegetables and the chicken and blend in a processor till nice and smooth. Do not add to much water. Its consistency should be thick enough to cover the spoon.

You can even freeze this chicken puree for your baby’s next meal. Make sure you thaw it well and reheat it in a microwave oven. Cool it down and then feed your baby this wonderfully nutritious and power packed chicken meal. Your baby will surely love the texture and the taste.
